Part of the reason that the number of jobs offered is 19 times bigger than the number of job applicants is due to the original support system at Animation College.
This is what we call the ‘Student Support System + Graduate Support System’
Let us introduce the 6 points about ‘Animation College’s SSS+GSS’ that will help you achieve your dream! |

Voiceover artists, Animators, and Cartoonists that are active in the front line all emphasize that the basics are very important. Individual characteristics are something built on firm foundation of skills.
What makes you capable in responding to various requirements on the scene is a firm foundation. In the Animation Department and Comic Department you will prioritize sketching and will build up your basic skills used for drawing. |

We invite people working in the industry to check productions and carry out mock interviews for an animation production company. |
■Receive production advice from people in the industry.
In the process of producing an animation, your production will be checked not only by the director and technical director, but also by various other people such as the animation supervisors and inbetween checkers.
In the Animation Department we will invite people from various positions and ask them to check the student’s productions and to offer advice. |
■Prepare for job hunting with mock interviews
We will have people from the industry provide mock interviews on our premises. Members of the industry who know what kind of personnel the industry are looking for will interview and will ask the students questions that are likely to be asked in a real interview.
After the interview you will be given explanation of the purpose behind the questions followed by advice. Students will be able to reflect back to the given advice in order to be fully equipped for the real interview. |
The first step to professional debut. Editors of comics and novels will give direct advice for student’s productions. |
■Year 1
The first step to production-presentation is to call a publisher. You may feel nervous to start off with but you will be given the opportunity to practice with school staff who will pretend to be an editor.
After practicing on the phone, we will invite somebody from the editorial department who will offer you direct advice for your production. And after practicing the presentation taking your instructor’s advice you will be given the opportunity to attempt another mock production-presentation and give a real presentation to a publisher at the end of year 1. |
■Year 2
The editorial department is always looking for appealing newcomers. Making use of what you gained in the mock production-presentation you will then attempt a real presentation at a publisher. If you are able to receive the business card of the editor, this could be a chance. It’s time to create your next production and make an appeal. Making a debut while still being a student may not be just a dream. |

We will invite a wide range of professionals working in the front-line of the industry to speak to us as guest lecturers. Our students absorb many things from special classes, experiencing what it is like to be working in the animation scene. Professionals who have achieved their dreams and are working in the front-line give great encouragement to our students and those who are thinking of joining our school. |
In order for students to be able to acquire skills they will need when working in the industry more specifically there is a full-time instructor in each department and each course. Throughout the year, the full-time instructor will conduct each class, and will have understanding of each of the student’s performances and will help improve their skills. |
When the students enter our school they are just beginners, but after studying here they gain experience and make an achievement.
At our school we offer many opportunities where students can take a glimpse of the front-line of the industry through special lectures, auditions within the school, and mock production-presentation. We have also gained much trust from each industry and have achieved an increase in the number of jobs offered which is 25 times bigger than the number of job applicants.
Valid Job Offering Ratio (The total of employment offers at animation related companies ÷current students) = 25.4 times

The first step to making a debut and finding a job is learning how to communicate with people. No matter how much skills and knowledge you have, if you are unable to communicate well you will be unable to get a job. We take into account every student’s characteristics and lay out a framework to act as a go-between the students and the companies. |
We have a system in which there is a tutor for each class in which we are able to have full understanding of each of the student’s thoughts towards their future career options and directions. |
Our career advice staff always research what the new companies and the industry are seeking for and give advice to the students. |
We have a system where the tutor, career center and the student discuss the required personnel, production and directions in order to establish a suitable job-hunt for all. |
The staff at the recruitment center are always looking out for new sources of employment. They also visit various productions and search information on employment offers. |
At times the tutor will visit the companies to gain understanding of what requirements there are on the scene. Advice received from companies would be reflected in the curriculum straight away. |
Many companies start their training before the student has graduated. Plans for the training terms and internship are set upon discussion between the career center and the tutor. |
Career options are decided upon discussions between the tutor, career center and the student. The student is given training for life in society such as business knowledge required for job-hunting and manner courses. |
GSS is a system that supports graduates after their graduation to achieve their dreams. On the day of their graduation graduates will be given a ‘GSS Card’ and we will offer support semi-permanently. |
Even after you have graduated you would be free to use the Voiceover Lab, Comic Lab and Computer Lab. |
Graduates of the Animation Department and Comic Department are free to have their productions checked by us. |
Please feel free to discuss with us your change in career or re-employment even after graduation. |
We have a website set-up especially for graduates. Students are free to use this website as a means of consultation with the school. |
We will arrange graduate reunions not only on the year of graduation but also in years to follow. Once in the society, graduates will become industry companions. Use these events as opportunities to exchange industrial information. |
Many of the past graduates have joined firms or found a job, and continue to pursue their dreams. |

Natsumi Honda
Graduate of Comic Dept., Story Comic Course
Awarded the Special Prize for the ‘Margaret’ magazine.
The intimacy with teachers is what appealed to me.
Teachers were always there for me and gave me advice for things like deciding about characters and storylines. I felt very intimate with the teachers and it was easy to ask their advice. During the mock production-presentation I was able to have my production looked at by many professionals for magazines. This helped me to broaden my views about producing. |
Not only will we support your employment into companies in the industry, but we will also help your employment into general companies. You have a wide choice of industries ahead of you. |
